Xiao Feng and Mathieu of the Netherlands are my illustrators of choice. The duo starts by hand with paint, markers, pencils on cardboard or paper. Their process is to both work on the same illustration so the result is a multi-layered, informed piece. The simple fact that they can collaborate like this and complete something and not end in an argument is awe inspiring to me.
Content of each piece demonstrates an understanding of current culture and iconography. The two dimensional quality of their work at the basis reflects an artist touch. There is a thoughtfulness that accompanies each piece.
