Years ago when I was suffering from vivid and unsettling dreams I shared this with my quasi college guru. Without missing a beat he said, "Gena man, dreams are just throw up of the brain." Whew, well now I feel better about my nauseous brain and let go of some of the worry of understanding and interpreting these nighttime morsels. I do feel there are different types of dreams just like there are different types of sleep. Vomitous dreams? For sure. Its your brains way of sorting through a lot of imagery and stimulus that it doesn't know what to do with. Guided dreams also, with the challenge of finding where I placed the misplaced car keys can be the drifting thought. Ok brain, go to work. Sensory dreams where you can smell or taste or feel something. Depending on what it is these can be magical. The nightmare is technically a dream gone bad. Walking through that party with every person that you have ever met, wearing only the plastic red keg cup, for example, can be a nightmare. You are calculating and darting your way from sofa to table to curtain to try to hide the fact that you are nude. And you know you dream in color because you can recall in great detail the tie that your fifth grade math teacher was wearing. Dreams like that beg for analysis and an afternoon nap because you wake exhausted. Maybe another is when you see a path that your higher self is calling you to go on. You are shook with the fact that a ominous entity seems to be calling you to task. Its fortuitous and in your dream you say. 'Yes. I will accept the chaplinship,' and again you see the little blue and white collar. But then you wake. you think, I can't become a chaplin! How would I ever keep dating, _________ and do that? And on and on it goes.
